HMS-WH provides individual, family and children counseling and psychotherapy services in an integrative and comprehensive way to the Hispanic and diverse community of Washington Heights-Inwood and New York State in accord with their unique psychological and sociological needs. The center provides psychosocial assessments, psychiatric evaluation and follows up as well as psychological evaluations.

We also do individual, couples, family, children and group therapy. We are authorized provider by OASAS and the New York State Criminal Court System to conduct Alcohol / Substance Abuse Screening and Assessments on DWI cases.
We specialized in low cost psychological treatment. Advance training and supervision to our health professionals and bilingual mental health services to our community with an emphasis on art therapy, play therapy for children, music, poetry and dance therapy for individuals and groups.

Education Training Unit:HMS-WH is also dedicated to the teaching and the practice of modern and contemporary theories of psychotherapy and psychoanalysis to new immigrant Hispanic health professional in order to integrate them into the existing American treatment arena. We provide tutoring, mentoring, educational and translation services, training, seminars and courses for board preparation and on how to advance their careers needs.
About Dr. Jorge Piña:Dr. Piña has more than 20 years of experience as a Clinical Psychotherapist and Psychoanalyst in New York and Santo Domingo. He is also a writer and cultural activist, licensed mental health counselor -LMHC- and promoter of the Lacannian Psychoanalysis. He is the author of six books of Metapoetry. Dr. Piña hold a Medical Doctor Diploma and an Associate Degree in Education, Philosophy & Literature, with credits on Films and Art Publicity from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) and two BAs in Clinical and School Psychology from the Dominican University of Professional Studies. And a Master in Psychoanalysis from the New School University for Social Research where Jacques Derrida was his professor.
About Ercilia Garcia:
Ercilia Garcia is a licensed Mental Health Counselor, with graduate studies from New York University. She is Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Certified Alcohol
Substance Abuse Counselor, Life Coach, and Adjunct College professor for the last 13 years.
